Green Water to Attend the 53rd Annual Zilker Garden Festival

About the Festival:
For over 50 years, the annual Zilker Garden Festival has been a one-stop, garden shopping destination when spring arrives in Austin and Central Texas.
When Zilker Botanical Garden opens it gates on Saturday, March 27th and Sunday, March 28th, Zilker Garden Festival will begin celebrating its 53rd year.
A family-friendly event, the garden festival offers something for everyone –
the annual Flower Show in the garden center auditorium, featuring judged designs and an array of horticultural specimens
live music from the Soundstage in the Rose Garden – with a variety of musical offerings both afternoons
Gardening Talks under the big, white tent next to the Garden Center – where novice and seasoned gardeners will enjoy talks from local gardening experts
the always fun and interactive Kids’ Corner in the Rose Garden – where kids can build a birdhouse, have their faces painted, make dinosaur masks and butterfly wings
Vendors from across Central Texas will fill the garden, selling a variety of plants – annuals, perennials, cacti & succulents, vegetables and herbs, and tropicals. Festival goers can also shop for garden-themed art and accessories, ceramic pottery, unique jewelry, herbal products, baskets, birdhouses, and colorful garden benches.
The Zilker Garden Festival is the primary fundraiser for the Austin Area Garden Council – a nonprofit affiliation of over 30 garden clubs. All proceeds from the annual festival support Zilker Botanical Garden and allow AAGC to promote the education of citizens in the art of gardening.
Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children (ages 3-12), available in the Garden Center gift shop or online at www.zilkergarden.org. Visitors can also pay at the entrance gates to the garden festival, which are open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm both Saturday and Sunday. Parking is $3 and is available across from the Barton Springs entrance gate and in the grassy lot off Stratford Drive across from the back entrance gate.
